HG is a humble watch corner founded (in 2000) & managed by a watch lover, Shawn TAN for fellow collectors.  Operating from SINGAPORE & like Singapore, HG is a modest yet promising watch corner with so much to offer.    A qualified accountant & international tax consultant by training, Shawn is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA / ACCA), United Kingdom & the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA).  An avid collector with penchant for all things vintage, especially rare vintage watches & clocks, Shawn started collecting at the age of 18 & this hobby quickly evolved into a significant alternative investment & eventually in year 2000 he left his tax consulting profession & turned this serious hobby into a business.  

The main reason for setting up HG is to bring special items to fellow collectors/dealers alike & at the same time keep our hobby going.   Some of the watches you see in our website originated from our private collection whilst others have been sourced & selected with much effort & care.  As collectors at heart, each item in our showcase has been handpicked, examined & curated as if it was for our own collection. You will notice that all our watches are of fine condition that every watch collector would ask for.  Call us perfectionists if you like but we take pride in bringing the great smile onto your face when you receive our items.  Our experience, expertise, excellent service & professionalism will also ensure that your shopping experience with us is a pleasant one, each & every time, simply because WE ARE COLLECTORS TOO !!

2018 Dec: Shawn was interviewed & featured in a CNA Lifestyle article titled "Sell your Daytona and you could make almost double what you paid for @ 17Dec2018, where he shared his views on the changes in the watch collecting scene & whether watch collecting can be an alternative investment.  

  2018 Aug: Shawn was invited as a panelist for a watch event organised by Esquire Singapore/Singapore Watch Club on 4th August 2018 to share his views on current obsession with vintage watches.

2017 Aug: Shawn was featured in AUGUSTMAN Magazine, August 2017 Issue.

2015 Jan: LOUIS VUITTON  featured & recommended HG in its inaugural LV City Guide Singapore 2015 for vintage watches in Singapore.

2014 Apr: Shawn was featured in NANYOU SPRING SUMMER 2014 - Singapore's first Chinese Fashion & Lifestyle magazine for stylish men.

2013 Aug: Shawn was featured in MediaCorp Channel News Asia, Ch5/8/U TV NEWS on watch collecting trends & investment potential. 

2013 Aug: Shawn contributed an article titled "Clocks, life's first timekeepers" in The Business Times "Watch Supplement" @ 23 Aug 2013.

2011 Aug: Shawn contributed a one page article titled "In Praise Of Vintage" in The Business Times "Watch Supplement" @ 26 Aug 2011.

2011 July: Shawn was featured in MediaCorp Channel 8 TV "Show Me The Money" @14 July  to provide tips on watch collecting & investment. 

2011 Feb: Shawn was featured in The PEAK Singapore (Feb 2011 issue) on Timeless Pursuits - Classic Luxuries.

2008 Aug: Shawn was invited by a Bank to give a talk on "Collecting Watches As a Hobby & Alternative Investment" to its clients.

2008 June: HG was recommended by Female (Singapore's leading fashion & beauty magazine) for vintage watches in Singapore.

2007 June: HG held a vintage watch exhibition showcasing over 500 pieces of rare vintage timepieces.  

2007 June: HG held a watch talk @ HG - Appreciation of The Timeless Art, chaired by Dr Bernard Cheong*.

2006 May: Shawn was interviewed & featured in The New Paper * about watch collecting. *The second most-read English newspaper in Singapore.

2006 June: Our website was ranked #3 in the Hitwise S'pore TOP TEN WEBSITES Shopping & Classifieds from Apr-June.

2004 April: Our collection of moonphases watches (Valjoux 88) was featured in a Hong Kong lifestyle magazine.

2002 Mar: Our website was named "vintage watch website of the month" by watchUseek.com for three months in 2002.
